Senator Dino Melaye has thrown the National Assembly into confusion, during Wednesday’s plenary, as he exposed the amount of money the All Progressives Congress, APC, has looted in three years.
While speaking on the floor of the Red Chamber, Dino Melaye called on the entire National Assembly to override the Nigerian Peace Corps Bill, which was vetoed recently by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Dino said: “I rise today to inform the House that I have received more than 100 text messages from my Constituency, calling on the House to override Buhari’s veto on the Peace Corps Bill.
“I do not see why a government should reject the Peace Corps Bill which has the capacity to create jobs for our teeming unemployed youth.”
He added: “The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for 16 years in government borrowed N6 trillion, but the All Progressive Congress, APC, has borrowed N11 trillion in just three years.
“What did they do with the money without anything to show for it”, Dino questioned. He also said we must ensure that Peace Corps start functioning in order to create jobs for or youths
